Michael Connors has lived in Reno for 24 years. Michael has run numerous local and nearby events of various distances. He has run more than 50 marathons and ultra-marathons, including the 100th Boston Marathon in 1996. He recently completed the American River 50-mile Endurance run, and has twice completed the Tahoe Triple Marathon (three marathons in three days). Additionally, Michael has been teaching middle school for 19 years, making him an expert in wildlife management.

 

After starting on his own doing a “couch to 5k” program, Roland Blais joined Reno Running and Fitness in February of 2010 in the 10k group. he just wanted to lose weight, and his goal was running the Disneyland Half Marathon in September 2010. He soon discovered a love of running, and jumped directly into marathon training after his first 10k, and getting fitter in the process. Since then, he’s run many races of varying distances from 5k to 72 miles, completed the Tahoe Triple in 2011, and most recently The Castle Peak 100k in 2015. Roland enjoys trail running with friends and his dog Ben, brewing beer, and spending leisure time exploring Northern Nevada with his friends and family.
